Bad Canada Consolidation Credit Debt

I have considerable debt credit card the United States and I am considering using a U.S. company to consolidate debt. I live in Canada and my home and all other assets in Canada. Does anyone know if ruin my credit in the United States will affect my credit in Canada? Also, can anyone recommend a good American company debt consolidation?
