I am interested in issues directly related to oil and gas exploration and production. Of course, the first task is to identify the problems must be solved. I am more than happy if I get specific answers on issues that affect the oil industry and which are not yet resolved.

An important tool in the exploration is made of images from the reflections of sound waves by explosions surface. The analysis of these images is what helps determine the explorers existence and location of oil and gas. Any improvement in image processing and pattern recognition would reveal sources and neglected deeper sources, and would reduce the drilling waste to a false image.

On the side of production, refining crude oil into its various products safely and effectively is a set of chemical processes extremely complex and sensitive. Some really good visualization of these processes could help run a refinery person gently, efficiently and safely, and could also help to reveal parts of the process could be improved. The human brain has an enormous capacity for pattern recognition with data that are presented visually.
