Do we still pay the balance each month on rewards / cash back card? The only difference between the cards and reward usually is that the cards give you rewards miles, cash back or points and regular maps give you nothing of use. It is not required to pay the balance each month, in fact, if you do then the credit card company makes no money off of you (which explains why they do not like me .. . lol!) The issuer of the card becomes a part of the purchase as a fee for card services. With a rewards card, the bank is part of the tax rebate to you and take less profit on each purchase in the hope that you will make this your preferred card and buy more things and maybe make a balance and pay interest. Other than the reward, they function like any other card. You're still financing of interest and Charges - Part reward is just a bonus to your business credit with them.
