Co2 Detector

Posted on March 11, 2010.
Co2 DetectorDo CO2 detectors and smoke detectors wear out and must be replaced?

Ive had the same CO2 detector for over 10 years. Do they
to? I was told that I should replace it with newer technology of the detector.

Smoke / CO detectors have a lifespan of 7 years. This is 7 years from the date of manufacture, not 7 years from the date of first use. I suggest to replace them after every 5 years or more.

In my state, there is a code of fire safety to replace them every ten years in commercial and industrial. I replace mine every 6 years. My family is worth it.

yes, they go bad over time it is generally referred when to replace after so many years, but do not know how
