Corporate Card ServicesPosted on February 2, 2010. Am I liable for credit card debts remain unpaid business when my company went bankrupt? I had an Amex credit card and was left with a rather large outstanding balance when my company (Burr Wolff) went bankrupt. Am I responsible for the outstanding balance that was articles and services that were charged to the account of Burr Wolff (Google AdWords, etc.)? I have not had any luck in resolving this with an attorney for bankruptcy or person Amex ... please help. The quick answer is "YES" when you register your AMEX card user agreement and terms and conditions of all the corp must say that you are responsible. This is mainly a security guard again by the employees of the abuse to collect personal items that can not be expensed. In the meantime, you will not get the results of their AMEX only interest is getting paid. What is between you and your business is not their business. You should refer to the bankruptcy process your current company and see if you can become a creditor to recover a portion of the outstanding balance. Otherwise, you can take comfort in the fact that corporate credit card companies are not reported to your personal credit histroy at all. Make sure to check with AMEX. I would say for the moment, Ingored balance, consult another lawyer from your current lawyers are obviously not give you good advice. Probably want to consult a personal financial advisor on this too! I hope this helps! If the card was in your name, you are responsible. Except it was a corporate responsibility card. i 'd ask a bankruptcy lawyer in your area wait until the chips fall ... but I doubt u'll be held legally responsible. they will try to snatch the silver heart, stand firm and tell them to walk in Central Park! Your lawyer does not know the answer? CommentsThere are no comments.Leave a Comment |
