Credit Card Fraud Alert

I mean if I put a fraud alert on my credit card will I worry if I want to open the card stores (Macy's, nordstorm, ...). or is there a bad thing about fraud alert if I want to put it on my credit card? I want to do but do not know everything about this Ting. is it good or bad thing and it has.
