Credit Card Purchases

Posted on February 23, 2010.
Credit Card PurchasesCan I get mobile broadband to run credit card purchases in my store?

I would not mind having mobile internet on my laptop and also to bring it to my shop so I can run credit card purchases. But I have no idea if this would be for many concerts and I would go over the limit of Verizon, which is 5 GB per month. Does anyone have experience with this? Please help!

Hi Christiana,

Using the mobile broadband is certainly an option. As you said, the key question is how many gigs you want to use. For most people 5GB is enough as they are not active at high speed (eg downloading movies and games). The main thing is to know how much bandwidth is used for transactions. So if you have an idea of how many transactions you run daily, it will be a simple calculation to see how much you use per month.

I have attached an article that covers the ins and outs of 5GB CAP which should help you to discover.

I also attached another article covering some of the issues of mobile workers using mobile broadband might encounter. It should also be useful.

To your success,
Marc
