Credit Card SettlementPosted on January 15, 2010. How can I get a credit card settlement? I have a credit card and about $ 2,100 of debt on it. I paid the minimum every month but I'm on my credit limit. How can I do to get a settlement with CC? If it were me I call the credit card company and ask to speak with the collections. I would like to explain the situation and see if they can do something to help the debt you owe them. Think of it this way, the more they can do is say no, but it may well be that they can try to work with you so you do not default on the card. In Canada, you must be in collections with them before arriving at a settlement. It is not always the best option in terms of personal credit. However, if it is the only way you can pay then it may be an option. Remember, if you settle, the card will be canceled very likely you will need to reapply. They go against your credit if you are unable to pay the settlement and OnTime. they have no reason to attempt to solve - you are their best type of customer - they do a lot of money out of you - you better pay the balance below the limit and stop using the card or you get more than limit charges, and you'll never pay the card - pay more than the minimum or you will need 20 years to repay and you'll pay $ 4,000 interest over $ 2,000 in original cost CommentsThere are no comments.Leave a Comment |
