Credit Cards Regarding Airline MilesPosted on February 14, 2010. How much credit should we be open on my credit cards? I have 6 major credit cards, a couple of gas cards and a couple of store cards. I have higher credit. My credit score is 836 when I bought my car last month. I never carry balances, pay my cards each month. The problem is that I had most of these maps for more than 20 years and they continue to increase my limit. Right now, I have about $ 150,000 of available credit open with about $ 25,000 on each card. Obviously, this has affected my credit positively paranoid but I feel to have so much open credit, particularly with respect to fraud or losing a card. I do not want to cancel all the cards because they all have differenct benefits, we have a stable interest rate of 4.9%, another me free gas, airline miles in another, etc. etc. So, do I keep things as they are? If I am forced to cancel a couple of them? Or should I get lines of credit lowered? If this bothers you, then get down on those lines that you do not use often. Do not have all your cards with you every day, eh? Put them in a lock box or something at home and take them when you need it. CommentsThere are no comments.Leave a Comment |
