How can you put a credit freeze on your credit? I need to clean my credit, and want to put a credit freeze on it as I do.
You can freeze your credit reports by contacting each credit bureau individually. Keep in mind that you can freeze your credit reports in all states. In October 2005, here is the current list: http://blog.trustedid.com/?page_id=15.
The cost of freezing your credit reports vary in each state. In addition, in some states, freezing your credit reports are free if you are caught up in an identity theft.
Finally keep in mind that once you have frozen your credit reports, you'll need to "unfreeze" them before you apply for credit. In most cases, you should begin the process of thawing at least three days before you plan to need someone to access your credit reports. Freezing your credit reports can also affect your ability to get a cell phone, open a brokerage account or apply for a job - all these events often trigger a look at your credit report.
But the benefits are enormous - you're almost guaranteed that nobody will ever get credit in your name - ever. Today, what happens to about 3 million Americans, according to the Federal Trade Commission.
CALL YOUR COMPANY CC and let NO YOU WANT TO ACCT to freeze your Furthur NOTICE. Debt is never good big map! Good luck
I would stop using my credit cards for some time.
