First Home Buyers GrantPosted on January 8, 2010. Can I get a grant for first home buyers, if I received when I got married? My husband and I had the first home buyers grant, but have since separated. Me wonder if I can now get the same, we only gave a grant, and are now two people separately? Not if your name is everywhere on the act. There are many other programs out there, you may qualify well, my advice is to go to a bank that you trust and see what programs they offer. either do not trust anyone. Mortgage brokers do not know, finance companies, etc., after all, is why we are in a bad situation with the housing market ... defraud other people taking advantage of ignorance. Good luck with that and be sure to read the "fine" print. It depends on 2 things. 1) how long you have actually received the initial grant and 2) the new grant will be asked and their rules. With regard to mortgage brokers trust / lenders, do some research on them. Most weed seeds are no longer active. I work for a lender and we are a company renowned. Mortgages are now very strict guidelines for qualifying today. There are programs where 3% is all you'll need a deposit.
