First Savings Credit Card

Posted on September 3, 2010.
First Savings Credit CardWhat is the best way to get my first credit card to build credit?

I am a student and I get a credit card (for building my credit for my future). I have a savings account and have money in it. I am also a full time student. I do not have a job. What is the best and safest way to get my first credit card when I'm going to be approved?

Since you are a student, most of the companies issuing credit cards would probably be very happy to issue you a credit card (they make good money by taking advantage of college students), but as long as you're responsible, you can make them work for you and ensure that they have never a penny of interest on your part. Be sure to make your payments on time.

I'm surprised that you do not get offers in the mail already (I used to get every day or so). Simply contact Chase or Capital One and see who has the best deals. You need to be approved for at least a small line of credit, no prob.

Go to http://www.rscreditcard.com/ and sign up for a credit card on this website has all major credit cards Report Abuse

Hey, if you are just looking to build credit, there are ways in addition to credit cards: CD loans, car, house, student loans, etc ... those who go to your credit history. Assuming that you are responsible and pay on time and keep balances low, you'll have fantastic credit.

I write a blog about personal finance and wrote an article on establishing a good credit:

Check it out and we hope you find some info that helps. Good luck!

Store credit is the easiest as Wedding. You can also try HSBC and Washington Mutual who are very "new credit" friendly.

Go to www.bankrate.com and it can help you find the appropriate credit card. They had a few students ON to last time I looked.
