There are only two examples I am aware of where hydrogen is used as a storage medium of solar energy. Neither is very effective, they were both made to be on the grid and as another kind of "stack" of electricity. In one case, with large subsidies for equipment and in the other cases because there was no network available.
In one case, 10 to 1000 gallons of propane tanks used to store hydrogen. It is equal to 40 gallons of gasoline.
It's more a novelty than a convenient way to store electricity.
