I was wondering if it is possible for a high school student to get a credit card with the parents who pay the bill? I know this probably comes off as spoiled and kiddish, but the card would be used for the purchase of gas. My parents pay my gas as I do not have a job because they want to concentrate on my studies. I'd like a map just to build my credit score if sometimes I'm in college, I will not have my parents co-sign for things like a cell phone because I have no credit. I realize the extreme risk of credit card and debt and I am very disciplined and swipe the card on anything other than gas. My finance professor said something about credit cards to students whose parents can pay the bills and limits on the card so that you can not spend more and such, but the card is in my name. I've been looking online and have not found anything like that. Does anyone know of any financial institutions that offer this type of card? Thank you in advance. Assuming you're not 18, you can not have a credit card in your name and can not build your own credit. Since you're not 18, you can not sign legal documents to obtain a card.
