Threatened with being put on fraud credit card database on the Internet? Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a trial on a website, and was promoted to full membership without my permission. I emailed the company and they agreed to reimburse me, but he sent it with her:
"With regard to restitution, we have no problem giving you a refund for the
unauthorized transaction, but before we do, we are obliged to inform
sure, in issuing a rebate website to disclose the transaction
fraudulent. This will place your name, address, zip code, and your credit card
number in a database of Internet fraud. All credit cards online
Companies use this database. Our billing processor will put you in
database. And if you have entered into this database, your credit cards
does not work online in the future. "
Is this something I should really be worried or is this just a scare tactic? Thank you all who can help!
Is a scare tactic. There is no "Internet database of credit card fraud", and the information that they provide are contradictory in its own right. Their billing processor is probably one of the many companies that offer 3rd party e-commerce and credit card processing for merchants. While the billing processor can make a block house in their own database, they certainly can not put a block on your card for purchases with other merchants or retailers.
If this were the case, then everyone who put me on this "database" would simply call their credit card company and have a new card.
This is absolutely a scare tactic. Besides, you did not commit fraud, they did.
If you are at pains to get the refund, file a complaint and charge back with the issuer of your credit card. That's what I did in the first place, especially since he was a burden not allowed to leave. Do not deal with these clowns.
Sounds like a scam to me. You should check this permanent company with the BBB. If you have not authorized this update, they are committing fraud on the person. In the future, be careful who you deal with online.
