Natural Gas Detector

Posted on March 9, 2010.
Natural Gas DetectorDo I need a natural gas detector if I have a carbon monoxide detector near the gas stove?

The CO detector will not sense gas.
But your nose, if your property.

If your concern on a connection that is leaking, most plumbers use soapy water in a spray bottle to find and repair leaks.

Natural gas Mercan added to the smell.

You do not need a gas detector in your home at all. The gas company methyl mercaptans added to natural gas and propane because they would otherwise colorless and odorless. Methyl mercaptans feel if you detect any potential leak.

If your oven has been installed by a licensed pipefitter, it will check for leaks using a solution of soap, not a gas detector. You can make your own soap solution or buy. Apply with a paintbrush, escaping gas makes bubbles in the soap, you see bubbles, you see a leak.

Your detector detects CO CO if it is produced by your stove. If it produces CO, your range should be seen by a qualified technician, it must be adjusted.

If you are asleep you do feel it in ?????????? time, be mad, get what protection you can
