How do you choose a merchant credit card providers for your online business? I just started my internet business and I accept payments via PayPal, but I need more functionality than paypal can provide me, such as quotations and as once, so I will need a merchant account and begin accepting payments this way.
Can someone help me learn more about how to choose?
Hello.
Choose a credit card processor requires a little research you can do online for free. I was there so I know what you are going through.
I started with paypal too, but soon realized that I needed more functionality. That's when I decided to open a merchant account and accept credit cards through a payment gateway.
During my research, I came across http://www.electronictransferservice.com and has learned so much about the merchant account and credit card processing. I was even able to call and speak to a live person.
Now, I do not recommend that you sign with them, but information on their website is definitely worth more than reading, especially their FAQ page.
For example, one of the biggest things you should keep in mind when making a credit card processor is the cost.
You must be careful as some companies have hidden fees and they can accumulate very quickly.
And that's just one thing, there are many more details that you have to learn.
In fact, I went with another company, but the information I learned before choosing one proved very valuable.
Hope that helps you to point in the right direction.
Good luck!
